TogetherATL is a blueprint detailing how the Community Foundation works together with our neighbors and partners to lead and champion equity all across our region. Together, we work to secure equal opportunity for all residents who call Atlanta home.
How will your gift make an impact?
It’s up to you! You can designate the support programs to which your funds will be directed: the TogetherATL general fund supporting big-picture programs, or a fund dedicated to a specific place or system. It’s your choice — and your opportunity to watch the progress made from your donation.
TogetherATL General Fund
The TogetherATL Fund supports equity strategies, focusing on racial fairness across our region to build a better, greater Atlanta. The work occurs in coordination with stakeholders to address issues that disproportionately affect Black, Latinx and Asian communities and nonprofits.
Systems Change Funds
Our objective is a system-wide transformation that dismantles barriers to fairness and builds opportunity for a better Atlanta for all residents. This transformation includes housing, equity in the arts, and securing a greater voice in political decisions about income and wealth gaps that affect communities of color in Atlanta.
Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprises
The Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprises TogetherATL Fund addresses historic inequities for arts organizations, artists and small creative businesses in our region. This Fund supports the creation of art within metro Atlanta’s arts and culture community, amplifying previously underrepresented cultural perspectives. This support will help to strengthen the regional economy, foster learning at all stages of life, and incentivize others in the community to step forward and participate.
Housing and Neighborhoods
The Housing and Neighborhoods TogetherATL Fund supports the creation of 5,000 units of affordable housing in the Atlanta area by 2026, improving the lives of Atlanta residents while reducing the number of people struggling to find and afford a decent living space. Tactics to implement this strategy involve a combination of advocacy, grantmaking, impact investing and strong partnerships. This Fund supports organizations helping residents stay in their neighborhoods, as well as those assisting with the search for new affordable homes.
Income and Wealth
The Income and Wealth TogetherATL Fund reduces income and wealth gaps in Atlanta by increasing opportunities for economic mobility and wealth-building, specifically among Black, Latinx and Asian communities. The purpose of this fund is to reduce gaps in racial income and wealth by supporting career and workforce training and development, as well as providing access to capital for individuals and families across the region.
Power and Leadership
The Power and Leadership TogetherATL Fund ensures that all Atlanta-area residents can voice their views and encourages communication on important issues through available platforms. Civic engagement and voter participation are the two priority areas targeted for improvement, with the goal of growing voting rates in communities of color up to or beyond the national average by 2026. This level of civic participation will shift representative power to previously underrepresented communities of color, fostering a sense of belonging through an alliance to get-out-the-vote, in addition to community organizing.
Neighborhood Focused Funds
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta works with, and for, the community. These funds support and encourage a community voice in specific areas of Atlanta assisting underserved, underrepresented and underpaid residents. Each of these communities is unique, so each strategy is shaped in partnership with residents to best represent the needs and visions of their individual neighborhoods. Your gift helps address the specific issues and priorities, from food access and community building events to job creation and youth development.
South Cobb
The South Cobb TogetherATL Fund collaborates with residents of southern Cobb County and community stakeholders to determine which neighborhoods have the most urgent need for support. This fund’s purpose places residents at the forefront while laying the groundwork to build representation and leadership in the county.
South Fulton
The South Fulton TogetherATL Fund serves legacy residents of southern Fulton County by creating foundational supports for economic development and growth in a community that is rapidly growing and changing.
Thomasville
The Thomasville TogetherATL Fund focuses investments on historic Thomasville, a small neighborhood with a deep and rich history, tucked in the southeast corner of Atlanta. The Foundation has an established history in Thomasville through Spark Opportunity and THRIVE Thomasville programs to shift power to those historically excluded from decision-making that affects their lives and livelihoods.
